Hello all, This has probably been hashed around but after searching I couldn't find any direct answers to what I would like to know. Currently- at least until July 27- I'm an AT&T customer and yes I have an iPhone, a 3G. I have experienced enough dropped calls to last a lifetime, somewhere on the order of several a week. My plan or what I would like to do is come to Verizon and get the Droid X. I love the EVO and Sprint's service is excellent where I live and work, but I know that the build quality is superior on the Motorola handsets. My question is I have heard of a lot of folks changing their Verizon plans and removing the unlimited txt options and utilizing Google Voice. Yes, I understand you choose a Google Voice number and it becomes your main line. I just want to know from those of you that have done this, if it works pretty flawlessly? I understand that as long as the txt's go to your GV number than you aren't charged as they use data. How do they appear to you on your phone? I'm now a freelance designer as I was laid off fromt he corporate world and I'm looking to save as much as I can as far as costs. I guess what I am trying to find out is if GV works as advertised as far as being a free way to txt? I'd like to try Verizon as their signal where I live and work is the best over Sprint and AT&T. Thanks or all help and opinions!
