There's quite a few, I personally also use Quick Settings.
I've downloaded a couple others as well but, really don't like them. Where as Quick settings, does that and more. You can change the brightness, turn wifi on/off as well as bluetooth. Maybe does more than you want but, it's unobtrusive. You can set it so it shows an icon in the notification bar, or only shows when you pull the notifications tab down (which is how ive got it set).

My old Nokia N95 had a setting allowing the phone to turn on 3G automatically when needed, i.e. sending and receiving MMS etc. thus preserving battery by not running 3G all the time. Are there any apps out there that gives the X10 the same function? If not, can somebody make it? :)

I think (it's happened once or twice) the X10 comes up with an option to download a picture when you receive a MMS, as for sending I'm not sure
