Root Quick questions...?

I am going for the root and a new ROM, the one I will be choosing is CyanogenMod V5.0.4.2 for Droid. What will become of my contacts and my texts. Also when I put the ROM on my phone is there a way to put the numbers back on my phone from a backup or something...? Thanks in advance.

So long as you have enabled syncing, your contacts are stored on Google's servers. Go check your Gmail contacts, and they should all be there.

When you load a new ROM, it will sync the contacts back automatically.

As for your texts, you'll lose them unless you back them up with an app like Titanium.
