    I work at a Verizon store. We've been having trouble getting the eris in stock for a couple weeks now, just got the new plan book and its not in there anymore.... I think she's gettin pulled. Not sayin its a sure thing, but it seems all roads lead to nowhere for the eris. I just hope they still give us the G**damn update lol

    Welcome to the forums. This information has been covered in several other posts. EOL (End Of Life) for the Eris is set for the end of month. This is where HTC no longer produces the phone and Verizon will sell out its remaining stock on hand.

    The update is coming. Verizon announced the other day that the roll out is already underway and all Eris customers will receive the OTA update to 2.1 EVEN IF YOU ARE RUNNING A LEAKED VERSION with in the next 2 weeks.

    We have known for quite some time that the Eris would be EOL soon.
    Also the OTA is in the process of being rolled out. It started yesterday.

    This is old news, but since you "work at a Verizon Wireless store" and you're having trouble getting the Eris in stock. What happens if I came in and my Eris was broken? Would I get a refurbished model or something equivalent?

    verizon will still do warranty replacements if a phone is discontinued, we just place orders to have the new phone shipped to you, only tech stores can do in-store warranty exchanges

    yeah you're right god forbid anyone working at Verizon doesn't prowl the android forums daily, keeping up to date with the latest threads. And as far as the bible thing, I censored myself because I didn't know if my thread would be removed for profanity. I'm not a beleiver. And i'll make sure the next time I hit up mcdonalds ill ask for "anyone except that frisco guy from the android forums"

    I just dont get it. Why in the hell should I, or anyone else care if the Eris is being discontinued? I already have one. It's not like I'm gonna wake up one day and it's going to stop working. We all know that the 2.1 update is coming. If thats the last major update the Eris gets, that's good enough for me. Im due for an upgrade in 7 months anyway. Hell, we can all upgrade in 12 months or less. I love my Eris but the fact of the matter is that it was outdated when it was released and it's surely old news now. So in summary, enjoy your Eris while you have it. Technology moves fast, get used to it.

    Usually you cannot request who helps you at McDonald's. Generally they fall under the first come, first served, first available person mentality. But your point is still valid.

    However the fact that you didn't read the title of any of damn post on the page you were looking at suggests that you are as oblivious as Frisco claimed.
