R2D2 bootanimation D1 optimized (No Lag!)

I am non-rooted, but I am able to get into /system/media using LindaManager. Can I just drop the bootanimation.zip into /system/media and power-down-power-up the phone to get this installed?

No you can not. If you are not rooted you do not have permission to delete, write, or rename in the /system/media. You will not be able to copy it over. You can try /system/data/local though. It's a safer place for it anyway.

worked for droid 2

Use Root Explorer to move the bootanimation.zip
1. Put on SD Card
2. Rename R2D1_bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip (Can be done from computer before copied to SD Card instead.)
3. Copy and Paste it into /data/local (will take up memory used for apps)
4. Turn off your phone.
5. Turn on your phone.

thanks!
