I am new to the forum and I do love my Samsung Galaxy S2. Question: When I go to task manager to Ram to clear memory my phone usually closes between 15 to 18 applications, what applications are running because I am not opening any? I can clear the memory, let the phone sit, go back to clear memory and again many applications are running. I think I've already learned from the forum that there is no way to figure out which ones are running unless I read that one wrong too. Removing apps that are pre-programmed also seems to be a task that I am not technically advanced enough to accomplish.

What's running are several apps for the operating system. When you clear everything and go back to your Home screen, you'll see the phone has to rebuild the icons on each of the screens. Don't sweat it -- the phone needs those apps running to function.

    Hope that helps.

You can not delete the preprogramed apps normally. If you root your device, then you'll be able to delete them. I have no experience in rooting but there are some guides around here.

That helps a bunch, I had a hunch that might be what the phone needed to run since I wasn't opening anything however I wanted to make sure nothing was running that I didn't need chewing up unnecessary RAM. Does it make sense to clear memory then or just let it roll? I can always close the apps. of my choosing by clearing running applications. Am I hurting something by taking the clear memory step? Thank you very much!

I have researched rooting the device in the forum but unless necessary I have the phone setup where none of that bothers me. I simply move those icons on to other screens that I rarely have to visit. Kind of the old if it ain't broken don't fix it scenario. Thank you very much for your response.

Can't answer that since I don't know the answer. Seems to me, though, that as long as the operating system re-loads what it needs to run, clearing things out every now and then shouldn't harm anything.

If I clear my Ram Memory will it affect my SD Memory Card?
