Rand Paul...

Some American voters seem to have a real affinity for crackpot candidates like Rand Paul, Michelle Bachmann, Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell.

Which is such a much worse list than Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Kennedy, Fienstein, Schumer...

Both sides have crackpots. Those crackpots are usually at the fore. Your point? Or are you a Yellow Dog Dem, and just like bashing on Reps?

You may not like their politics, but Reid, Pelosi, Boxer, Kennedy (he's dead, remember?), Feinstein and Schumer are not crazy. Rand Paul is, and so are Sharron Angle, Michelle Bachmann, O'Donnell, et cetera. Palin isn't crazy, but she seems to delight in her intellectual laziness and ignorance.

Please provide clear examples of legislation that is "crazy" that they put fourth other wise you sound like a Fox sound talking point.

Where's the progress?

EDIT: My Pelosi comment was probably unfounded. I have a distaste for her generally, which skews my views on her policies a bit. However, the Democratic agenda this last 2 years has not been what I would call progressive.

Thanks for owning up to your words.

But I ask you, why would you espouse such negative rhetoric without proof.

Do you really expect ANY Government or person to fix that giant cluster **** that took 8 years to make in 2 years or less?

Just read or listen to any decent Economists and you will see that you are looking at Minimum 5 years but realistically 10 years to get back to solid footing.

Here is progress, the DOW was down to 5000 when Bush left but now it is back up to 10,000-11,000. Something must be working.

The fighting that is occurring will delay that even more.
Hey- I noticed something...the Republicans and the Tea Party were preaching that Obama and the Dems had it wrong, they needed to focus on JOB and NOT health care...YET they are now focusing on health care and not jobs. So they will now spend the next 2 years trying to defeat the current health care law.:thinking::thinking: Uhm, that will now put you 2 years of trying to get jobs and is a failure.

Mark my words, when the benefits kick in for health care in the next 2 years it will backfire on the Republicans because they will have delivered no jobs and or health care repeal. Where is the Republican Job plan...there is NONE hence they deflected the issue to health care to keep you distracted.

I see a President that is trying to make his nation SMARTER and HEALTHIER and retool for the future but the opposition seems to want to go back or has issues with everything. Saying NO is NOT A SOLUTION just a catchy bumper sticker slogan.

Have you noticed when the Republicans are asked for exact cuts they are unable to provide details. Do you think you could tell your boss the same answers the Republicans are giving you? Can you run your business without details?

I wish you guys nothing but the best of luck
but it is up to you to STOP FIGHTING because China and India are just getting stronger every second.

My problems with Pelosi, Obama, and the rest of the Democratic party has nothing to do with the handling of the Iraq war, so we can remove that from consideration here.

My problem is that through the Health Care plan and other initiatives, the current administration is continuing the cycle of ever-increasing spending. Although I am not yet able to vote, I will be a one issue voter. My one issue is that of fiscal responsibility.

We are already over 10 trillion dollars in debt, and our currency is held up by nothing other than the fact that China and Saudi Arabia find it valuable.

We are in an unsustainable situation where every day we increase our debt, with no plan to curtail it. I guess that's what I consider crazy -- the thoughtless approval of more and more spending.

Bill Clinton, despite the many issues he had, will be, in my mind, the last "good" president until someone else manages to balance the budget. At this point, I don't even expect a diminished national debt, I expect my government to operate at a net gain of $0.01.

While I agree that there are people in this country who need help, the way to help them is not government-funded healthcare programs and other spending, nor is it tax cuts. Not until we stop digging ourselves a bigger hole.

If this continues, there won't be a government to fund healthcare.

(A bit hyperbolic, maybe, but my point's made.)

Actually, you're not that far off.

The way to fix healthcare in this country is NOT government mandated insurance, nor government provided insurance. It's reforming a large host of rules that healthcare providers operate under, to allow costs to drop.

I forget which city it is in Nevada, that is currently without any form of trauma center. Why? Because individual doctors were paying in excess of $400K yearly in malpractice insurance, due entirely to the "lotto" aspect of malpractice judgments. Think that doesn't drive up costs?

Talk to anyone in the billing department of a hospital in a major US city, and find out how many patients come into the emergency room for non-emergent complaints, then walk away without paying. Those are a revenue loss to the hospital, which is then passed on to you in the form of higher costs.

Two minor points that drastically raise the cost of healthcare...

---------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the left being "crazy", I'm going to run with the lay definition: "Crazy is doing the same thing, over and over, and expecting different results".

Yes, the recession started under Bush: would have started under Kerry, had he won. It was going to hit, either way. However, you don't spend yourself out of a recession: didn't work for Bush (he started TARP), and it hasn't worked for Obama (doing it bigger).

for Pelosi in particular, she either doesn't understand the oath she took (to serve the Constitution), she doesn't care, or she's crazy. None of which are acceptable.

There have also been a few on the left who have stated actual disdain for the document the US government operates under. Again, legislators take an oath:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

I have no time for those who freely give such an oath, then break it...

Strings, glad to see someone taking such a calm, collected approach to this.

So why not make that the bone of contention. MAKE your Politicians add those points to the health care bill because if you do nothing you end up with nothing. You got something started, just DRIVE home those valid points to amend what you have. Good luck to you guy, seriously.

P.S. Did you know Rick Scott the new Florida Governor and one of the BIG $$$ spenders, his old company that he started and grew was convicted of MEDICARE BILLING FRAUD? He was up billing. Columbia HMO iirc. One of the largest fines too. So the guy is ow a Governer, same guy that told you to not vote for health care reform. Same guy that committed FRAUD.

The healthcare bill was introduced and passed WAY too quickly for anyone to say "hey, this is bad!" or "hey, something's missing".

We were even told by Nancy Pelosi that "we have to pass it in order to find out what's in it (funny: don't recall my civics class teaching that legislation was like a box of Crackerjack)...

I can see what you are saying BUT...
What plan did the Republicans have?
The Democrats told you 2 years from campaigning what they were going to do and they did it (half way imo).

The US has been talking about reform for 50+ years now and NOTHING had been done. Obama's plan is SIMILAR to the REPUBLICAN PLAN of BOB DOLE from the 90's.

Again, the Republicans had two years of warnings. The voters elected the Democrats. Obama is doing pretty much what he said he was going to do (minus the slowdown from the cluster **** financial meltdown caused by greed and DEREGULATION).

Again, if the Republicans were that unprepared with a plan then WHOSE FAULT IS IT. They got over 180 amendments that they provided.

If your Boss told you he was going to do something 1 year before they do it and KEPT telling you once a month what he is working on...Do you wait until he reveals it AND then ask him to give you time to provide your plan?

Maybe instead of promoting bullshit about the President being born in Kenya, Muslim Terrorist shit they should have been drafting their own plan...I do recall them having some bullshit 10 page plan at the last minute that were excerpts from the HMO's websites.

The plan you have now is a start and will evolve JUST LIKE MEDICARE did when that was created. The protest was the same BS but I don't see people turning down medicare. They should have just called it expanded Medicare for all and 90% of you would have been just happy.

Ask all of those Politicians that are against a Socialist Health Care system to STOP using the tax payer system that they and their family enjoys FOR LIFE. Watch the 2 stepping that will occur.
If it's so bad as a system and so costly financially then they should live up to their belief system and TURN IT DOWN.

Do you think they will turn it down?:D

Gonna take this a piece at a time...

I can see what you are saying BUT...
What plan did the Republicans have?
The Democrats told you 2 years from campaigning what they were going to do and they did it (half way imo).

Sometimes, NOT doing something IS the best plan. Especially when the "fix" is worse than the problem it's meant to solve...

The US has been talking about reform for 50+ years now and NOTHING had been done. Obama's plan is SIMILAR to the REPUBLICAN PLAN of BOB DOLE from the 90's.

And I've been against any plan that didn't address the issues I outlined FIRST, and see where that would take us...

And you seem to miss that I'm NOT saying the republicans are perfect. However, the way this entire mess was handled has been stupid.

And your guy Obama, going on tv and telling us "We (the Dems) just didn't explain things well enough".

The country is neither right nor left: it's centrist. What has been going on is fairly far left...

If your Boss told you he was going to do something 1 year before they do it and KEPT telling you once a month what he is working on...Do you wait until he reveals it AND then ask him to give you time to provide your plan?

Honestly, it would depend on what he was trying to do. Bad analogy...

Maybe instead of promoting bullshit about the President being born in Kenya, Muslim Terrorist shit they should have been drafting their own plan...I do recall them having some bullshit 10 page plan at the last minute that were excerpts from the HMO's websites.

Not sure why you keep bringing up the Kenya thing: even most of the far right agrees that we're stuck with the guy, regardless of where he's from...

The plan you have now is a start and will evolve JUST LIKE MEDICARE did when that was created. The protest was the same BS but I don't see people turning down medicare. They should have just called it expanded Medicare for all and 90% of you would have been just happy.

Medicare wasn't a complete takeover of the healthcare system: this is. And medicare did it's fair share of damage to the healthcare system...

Here, you have absolutely the right idea. The entire concept of Congress passing laws that they themselves are immune from is one of the biggest problems in this country...
