I stand corrected then. But I do wonder how it works with unrooted phones. Will look into this later :)

To stop any future "How do you make this work..."

This does not work on the captivate, so please do not ask...

Unfortunatuly the galaxy S series phones use a different boot animation config than the droids. I have personally tried many different methods to change the boot animation and non of them have worked, including this one. From my understanding, the boot animation is in some wierd samsung format that is locked and cannot yet be changed. If I figure it out, I will post.

By the way, I do want to say thank you to Viper311 for the post, it was a great idea.

Meh... same reaction I had on Engadget when I saw this. I really couldn't care less about boot animations. I don't want to watch the phone booting up... I want it up and running and ready to use. They also showed the new hyperdrive animated wallpaper, which I think is equally lame. Rather than drain battery life, I'll stick with static backgrounds.

Hey, I'm as big a Star Wars fan as anyone. I'm old enough to remember when the original came out and standing in a line that wrapped around the theater, on premiere weekend. But... on these... I'll pass.

If you're rebooting the phone so often that the boot animation bothers you, you're doing something wrong...
