Well, I'm 6'3 195lbs, so my hands are bigger :)

The cases are a good size for me, I won't be straining to hit any of the buttons cause my fingers are pretty long. The cases dwarf my fiancee's hands :D

I'm still giddy about the fact that the screen is going to be as big as my entire phone is now lol

lol.... that is good to hear. I am only 5'9", but my hands are huge, so these bigger phones are more what I feel are normal size.

So now after 2 weeks of having the One and loving everyday of it, the worst has happened...:hmpf:

My external speakers have developed a slight 'popping' sound during video playback from both my recorded videos as well as downloaded or streamed videos. However, this wasn't what was going to make me return the device.
Instead 2 days ago what crippled it for me resulting in a return is the fact that the mics don't work during calls or video recording. So my video recordings are silent and people can't hear me during calls.

Something interesting though, people can hear me during calls but ONLY if I put the call on loudpseaker. Seems to me that the problem is not so much with the hardware mechanics of the mics but instead a software issue.

P4U (the retailer I got the handset from) has told they'll replace it straight away so I won't have to wait for a repair to be carried out or anything of the sort. Only thing is I have to wait until more stock becomes available.

Other than this, the phone has been outstanding and the battery concerns are well behind me now as over the last 2 weeks I have been using the phone very heavily, especially with photo and video recordings. Even after all this the battery still has at least 35% come 11pm.

That is pretty bizarre. But like any piece of technology, there will be some WTF?? moments haha.

I have not been able to adjust my phone volume for a year and a half, and its on as low as it can go, so I have to turn on the audio enhance for hard of hearing individuals just to hear callers and voicemails I have to have zero noise around me or else I can't hear them at all.. This is due to me dropping the phone at a bar one night, but that is my audio story.

I'm glad you are getting the issue resolved asap!

My biggest concern is with the capacitive buttons. I had the original Evo and it was a pain while trying to watch a movie (netflix) or play a game in landscape because of the accidental pressing of the capacitive buttons. It was also annoying when they would be illuminated while trying to watch a movie or view a webpage.

Has anyone noticed these problems with the HTC1? I haven't gotten to see one in person so I was just curious.

The more I read about this phone the more I wish it was time for an upgrade. Oh well hoping nnext year will have something just as awesome.

While I do wish the capacitive buttons were removed and that they adopted the virtual buttons instead, I can't say I've had a problem accidentally pushing the buttons while watching videos in landscape. Of course I've accidentally hit them once in the beginning but generally I don't hold the phone on the bezel but instead on the edges as I just have a better grip.

The button lights do stay on during video playback though, so that might still annoy you.
I do really wish they added haptic feedback to the buttons as I find it would make it FAR easier and less frustrating in wondering if you did in fact push the button or not. Particularly in using the 'double- tap' home button to access running apps. Just something I'm hoping they will add in a future software update.

    Nice review...

I'm also an iphone 5 owner, in your honest opinion...How does the Ones camera stack up against the i5 as a whole?

Honestly, for my uses, the camera on the One is absolutely fine in comparison to the iPhone. I've found a number of uses for the extra functionality and the low light is way better on the One than the iPhone. I can't really see much difference between the two to the naked eye. I'm pleased as Punch.

iPhone 5 picture using standard settings. No zoom, no alterations.

HTC One picture using standard settings as above. No zoom, no alterations.

In both pictures, the focus is on the waxy gold top of the bottle in the middle.

Just received mine and would like to send a big thank you to Three UK for failing to provide me with the right sized sim card :D Still had a little play and very impressed so far, for those of us who had the One X and didn't think that glorious screen could be topped... we were wrong, very wrong.

yer three suck balls for that...

I had the same thing when I ordered my one x, thankfully I had planned to use a sim card cutter on my old sim anyway, but they just didn't send me one at all.

glad your impressed with the screen. Can't wait to see it for myself.

Not just the screen mate, the sound quality is unreal which was the biggest thing for me, even with the headphones out.. the awfully named boomsound is crazy how good it is. Not overly impressed with the camera but will suit my needs, if it is your main snapper though I would be looking at other phones if it is a must have.

On the sound side, they put in headphones which look suspiciously like beats but with no beats branding on.. sound quality is very good but even with all the different attachments I just can't get them to stay in my ears so will use the ones I got with the One X.

I've felt the phone in my hand before so knew it was really premium but now I've had a closer look I can honestly say it is the most premium feeling and best looking phone made.. ever.

Blink Feed seems well stocked with stuff, I have windows 8 so kind of used to that tiled feel.. I quite like it but you should be able to turn it off if you wish.

One slight annoyance is the return of the menu bar (from ICS on the One X) & seemingly no setting to remove it, it isn't on every app though. Speaking of apps, a lot of mine from the One X aren't compatible with this phone.. don't know if that's the version of JB it runs or the 1080 screen.

I'm willing to guess the menu bar and incompatibility of apps are due to the screen resolution.

Also there is an update coming for the camera software which improves the overall quality of standard photo's noticeably. Remember seeing some comparison shots of someone that had the update and it makes a big difference.

For all those that ordered through Handtec (like myself) is seems they are now shipping their 1st batch. I have no conformation email or anything though (and this worries me as I ordered mid march so I'm thinking I may not be in the 1st batch). Anyone had any conformation of shipping that ordered from there?

Argh! When will they learn? We need diamond encased phones.

But seriously, I've been stalking in the HTC ONE forums cuz I'm very interested in it. Although I am very happy with my RAZR M, the HTC ONE looks amazing.

If I had an HTC ONE, I'd probably put the Ghost Armor stuff on it rather than a case. The ONE looks so good I don't want to cover it up.

That's what I have done. No case on mine, just a very thin screen protector and back protector from XtremeGuard. So far the phone is still perfect after ten days and Ihave not been treating it with kid gloves (but then neither do i treat my phones badly).

    * EDIT * I think I got confused forum jumping and previously posted an answer (now removed) to which there was no question. Mods, feel free to do what you must and accept my apologies. *DOH*

Just to add to my mini review earlier, battery life is seriously good on this phone. With half a days almost continuous use my one x would have been ready for a charge if not flat, this has went down 7%

EDIT: No power saving on, WiFi and dc-hsdpa on
