General reboot

    i have been looking for the answer but can someone tell me is a reboot powering off your phone? or am i missing something and there is more to it??

    You are right. This is the terms I use.

    a Reset (Restart) is turning your phone off, and back on.
    a Reboot (Restart) is the phone automatically turning your phone off and back on.
    a Hard Reset (Hard Boot) is completely clearing all your information off your phone.

    A lot of people use the Reset, Reboot and Power interchangeably. You just need to be specific on which one you are talking about.

    I don't think anyone has really defined what each means. My Eris didn't come with a Manual, of course. So am just going from memory.
