Agorasys has updated RecallCheck for Cupcake!

RecallCheck allows Android based mobile phones with cameras to scan barcodes of food products and automatically search the web site of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for recalls. Bar codes on food products in the US take the form of a Universal Product Code (UPC). While the UPC is usually posted as part of a recall notice, the code is often in a form that makes it difficult to find via standard search services. RecallCheck simplifies the process of finding recalled items! RecallCheck is convenient, fast, easy to use, and economical.

Product details can be seen at Agorasys. Your comments, questions and suggestions are welcome!

Godmode: sorry you are having trouble finding RecallCheck! First thing to try is the search mode, for "recallcheck". If that doesn't work, try:

Please do let us know if you continue to have trouble. Many Thanks!

Kizer: thanks for the feedback. We priced the app at $5 because we think it pays for itself the first time someone uses it. Have you tried searching the FDA web site for UPC barcodes? Give it a try. What you will find is that it is time consuming to type in one barcode, much less several, and the FDA site has the barcodes in more then one format, so the queries can be challenging.

Next, consider what would happen if you consumed contaminated food -- at the very least inconvienient, and potentially costly (more then 5$).

Also, RecallCheck does not introduce advertisements into the process, nor do we sell user demographic data.

So for $5 you get an application that is fast, convienient, easy to use, and provides a great deal of utility. We think it's worth it.

Best Wishes,
Scott
