I'm using a Desire on T-Mobile UK and it seems a bit of a lottery as to whether I can send or receive MMS messages.

Sometimes they are sent and received without a problem when I'm connected via WiFi, but on other occasions I have to switch to a data connection to send or retrieve MMS messages. The message I occasionally encounter is "generic network failure".

Anybody else suffered the same? Why is this?

Check what size your maximum mms size is set to in your send message settings. Make sure it is 300k, if not, that's your problem.

Thanks for the response. I checked my message settings and it's at the maximum - 300k.

    Any other ideas?

Ok, it seems that my phone doesn't always let my data connection kick in when I receive an MMS while at home and connected to my wireless network.

Is there any way to ensure this happens?

As it's a pain when I receive a failed download message and I have to switch to my data connection to retrieve the message.

Hope all of the above makes sense!
