Root Recommend rom quick stable? 2.3? 2.2?

Hi all,

I have had my desire for well over a year now, I still haven't gotten round to rooting it yet, its running the OTA 2.2, software number 2.29.405.5. If I do root, what rom would be best for me, all I want is the sense widgets and speed and stability as my version now is much less unstable than the factory shipped rom. I've heard good things of defrost rom and things but that's it, anyone know of any good 2.3 roms or a good fast 2.2 rom?

If you want 2.3 and sense its not possible as of now you might have to wait for sometime to go for both. (there are leaked version or 2.3 sense available in beta, I never tried that)

So if you want 2.2 with sense I would recommend LeeDroid to start with.
If you want 2.2 with Sense HD I would recommend to go for Insercoin.
