Help Reflashing a branded Desire?

I have a Desire on the Orange UK network. Last week I updated to Froyo. Portable Hostpot switches on and devices connect, but it's not getting any data connection. HTC reckon the ROM needs reflashing. Is there any way I can do that myself without having to send it away?

I'm not looking to debrand - yeah, I know all of the benefits of debranding, but I'm happy with it as it is - I just want the Portable Hotspot to work...

Did you get it working? I have the same problem with the hot spot.
Im thinking that i might just debrand, its slowed down so much
