Just registered my Sprint EVO 4G on HTC's support site and the serial number came back as the SUPERSONIC-R2.

I guess "EVO 4G" is proprietary jargon to Sprint in the U.S. and means nothing to HTC.

What's Sprint calling the Supersonic in Europe?

HTC Supersonic was the code name of the device before launch. I assume that's the HTC internal name still. Most phones that span several carriers have different names for the same phone in a slightly different case.

The Touch Pro is called a Raphael as the official HTC model. It's nothing unusual.

Also, the Evo is not in Europe. Currently it's only a CDMA phone. To be sold in Europe it would need a GSM version.
