Help Removal of download arrow?

Does anyone know how to remove the download arrow from the upper left section of the G1. Called C/S and they could not help....I have been downloading apps and one of them must not have downloaded...I guess. It is just stuck up there and will not go away...looking for help. Thanks!

Simply touch with finger and slide down (top toward bottom), You will see the option that you will be able to clear notification. Thanks.

If your phone memory has run out of space, I have heard reports of downloads just freezing and never completing.
