remove password protect

I’ve read the threads on how to add a password/pin but I need to remove one. I have a Droid Razr Maxx with version 4.1.2. I KNOW MY PASSWORD/PIN. In the threads I read that seems a common question. I don’t want to have to enter it to use my phone. I go to system settings, security & screen lock, screen lock, confirm your PIN (enter my pin), choose screen lock, and here I only have 3 choices; pattern, pin, and password. “None” is a dimly lit as is slide and face unlock. In other words tapping None does nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Do not enter your pin, back out from there, reboot?

Its usually required if you have corporate email syncing to the phone. That policy is set by your IT department

I dont have corporate email syncing, there is no IT dept, I don't know what back out and reboot means, I'm just a guy who has a Droid Razr and needs to get rid of having to add a password to use my phone.

I searched "remove password protect" but it did not return any hits so I posted here assuming it was an Android operating system issue. I will give them a try, thank you.

I tried the razr maxx section and found the problem. It turns out that it is my FoxFi app that has the phone on lock down since it can't play nice with Jellybean. I will try that no lock app. Thank you.
