Ever since I upgraded my Moto Droid to Froyo 2.2, I've been having a problem with the phone ringtone changing all by itself. It's not after I re-boot, it's literally random as far as when it happens. It does always change to the same song I have on my phone. Anyone seeing this? How did you correct the problem?

Do you have any apps that manipulate the ringtones and notification sounds to use songs?

I have Mabilo ringtones - think I ought to un-install it and see what happens?

Would be a good shot - it may be changing it without you realizing it - or you could peruse its settings first and see if it is set to change the ringtone, and if you can disable that feature / reset it so it does not change it automatically....

Unfortunately, Mabilo was not the problem. I un-installed it and the ring tone changed today all by itself. Thanks for the help.

Well, then something else is doing it - and you've got to figure out what.

You might try a factory reset....

Closing off the thread here and for anyone else that might have the same issue.

I use an app called Profiles that allows you to configure different settings including volumes, vibrate, all off, and of course RING TONES. It finally came to me that this was indeed the app that was changing my ring tone. One of the settings you can configure for a profile is RING TONE. So glad that it turns out not to be any sort of bug.
