    Ok, from every thing I read this should be easy.. LOL I can't get the phone to "see" the file when I am in settings>sounds>ringtones.

    so I have a sound file, format as downloaded was .MPGA Currently I have the file in three different locations -
    SD>Downloads
    SD>My Music
    SD>media>audio>ringtones

    After a search, I read to change the .MPGA extention to .MPG or .MP3 - I tried both.

    Still, I can't get the phone to "see" the file. Astro will see it and play it. However, RingDroid, default Music player, and "PowerAmp" (new music player) do not see the file.

    Any help?

    Oh, phone is Moto Droid I, rooted, running BB.4, Launcher Pro...

    I got it working. I think the .MPGA file type was the issue. The phone would play it fine (from the file manager), but would not list it as a music type. I found the ringtone in .MP3, and it worked fine...
