I thought I would bring this over and share it with you guys. I'll update more in a bit.

For now, this is a pure aosp gingerbread build built from source. You can download it, find screenshots and see the changelog all @ Salvage-Mod | Android Development | irc.freenode.net #salvage-mod

flashed this rom and i love it. however battery life is not good. checked everything i could. just changed out kernels so we shall see what happens. came over after my fresh 3.5 got corrupted. had excellent battery with that rom.

Try Savage 1.6- CFS- Havs- Wimax. I have great battery life with that one. It is an SBC kernel if you are squeamish about those.

I had a market issue when I tried Savage-zen 0.1.0. Might have been fixed. Test driving cm7rc2 right now. Might try SZ again if I keep this one.

i flashed the above kernel. still getting 6-7 hours on and battery dies. i turn off BT and GPS when i am at work. anything else i can try. i am pretty experienced with this device but unable to see what is causing the battery drain.

Did you try the one I was using? Savage 1.6? I got very good life out of that one. Getting ready to try it with cm7rc2 tonight

loaded it up this am. i checked through other settings but no data is enabled. i see my gps blinks but i have it turned off.

GPS might require the GPS fix if you didnt try that yet. It took a couple of days for it to settle in if I remember correctly then after 10-12 hours off charge, I still had 70-75% battery left......til I got home and my son killed it playing angry birds

I did use setcpu though set to smartass and max 1152 min 245 so it saved alot with the screen off but was quick with it on.

I think that SBC makes a big difference as I would still be above 95% after 3 hours or so.

Installed it today. Had a question. Sometimes when I install new roms, google syncs my apps to the phone and sometimes not. This time it did not. How do I get it to do that?

I'll also probably play with different kernals the next few days.

just lists some google apps like maps and voice, but none of the old stuff. and it worked as recently as last week when I installed a different rom.

their sync confuses me

what version of gapps are you flashing? Maybe its got an old version of the market and it doesnt update for you

Not sure if this would work on Savage-mod. It is from CM7 and is supposed to be just for GB roms and it appears Savage is just that. I would make sure you make a nandroid before you flash this if you chose to do that.

Not sure if it will make a difference or not but it worked great when I flashed CM7 yesterday with the gapps from their site.

Ok I've had enough with this rom. I do enjoy it but it crashed on me after the suggested kernel. Went back and reinstalled it and the battery drains quick. Guess it's back to something else

oh that one. yea did that. my gps works it just blinks sometimes after I turn it off something must be using it. battery life is still blah

I am at 3 hours off charger.....91% battery still with moderate use this morning running Savage 1.6-cfs-havs-wimax. Set at min 245 max 1152 smartass governor

i see there are new radios and wimax. should i apply these to this rom?

What baseband are you on right now? That might be an issue with your battery life

just flashed the nosbc 1.6 kernal. we'll see what happens. baseband is 2.15.00.09.01

You should update your radios. I bet you would get better battery life. Just make sure you backup your wimax keys before you flash them just in case.
