Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

Ok, that tells me you are were on stock, probably V6 and you had a custom recovery (CWM) which prevented you from taking the update. First thing first, and this will seem silly, but I did it myself. Please make sure your sim card is the correct direction. There is a notch that is only noticeable when the card is in correctly. You should also be able to see the Verizon logo on the card. If you are seated correctly, then your next attempt will be to reflash the rom. To get back into recovery, power off the phone, then hold Power+vol down until the factory reset menu comes up. Press power twice and you will be back into recovery. Let us know where you are at once you run thru all those tests.

No, unless you are pure stock, you will not be able to take the ICS update. If you want to return to pure stock, or just end up wanting to block the update, then read this thread.

Be warned, the ICS update comes with better radios, but you lose free wifi tether (unless you're on a capped data plan) and it locks the boot loader (no more CWM recovery). The current unlocker works, but you lose blue tooth function in the process and still lose wifi tether. Once LG releases the kernel code, we should be able to fix the blue tooth issue.

P.S. , judging by your responses so far, I'm going to suggest that you probably want this.

The cause (2) : You are stuck in CWM and rebooting just puts you back into CWM. If you DO NOT want the update, follow this solution.

The solution (2) : Find a way to put these files on your SDcard.

http://androidfiles.massivefilehost.com/cwm_touch/cwm_bootloop_fix.zip
Go back to your phone and flash the BlockOTASpectrum.zip file. Then flash the cwm_bootloop_fix.zip file. Reboot into your rom. Now here is the critical part. Update your copy of CWM. You're a whole version behind where you should be. Either grab it from RomManager or from this thread.

This is the best ROM for the Spec, honestly.
This was the first ROM I installed on my Spectrum when I first got the phone back in June.
I'm still on it now. I've tried other ROMS, both GB and ICS ROMS, but this one wins on every point, hands down.
I always come back to this one because it's been reliable since day one.
When it comes to computers, I am a minimalist, and I couldn't agree more, except PG put out the Black Plague rom some time ago, and it seems to be just as good.
I will continue to try everything that comes down the pike. I've become very adept and fearless when it comes to manipulating my phone with these roms. It doesn't seem like a great accomplishment; so many others have done the same, but I had to overcome my fear and plunge right in. And I love every minute of it. As a result, before I die, I will learn the ins and outs of android, and I will be creating my own roms someday.
