    Review - Sapphire 1.1.0

Note: I will not be reviewing Sapphire 1.1.1. The only difference is an updated Camera.apk.

    Installation and Setup
My apps did not sync, but I prefer to use Titanium Backup anyway so this was a non-issue for me. It booted up very fast and I was set up and good to go within an hour of flashing. I went with the 1100 Sapphire kernel and flashed thebowers

The music rocker glitch really kills the ROM for me bro. Everything is good though. I just don't like music skipping randomly (usually starting by itself) when I'm in a quiet place.

Yea, me either, I just disabled that button function in Gem Settings.
The DSP Manger (equalizer) is so sweet though.

Loaded it today, first reboot from ROM Manager failed, pulled and battery and everything is flying on the second boot. Chose the 1.1 Kernel, just waiting for a theme to pop now.

I wish rom manager was able to actually install these new versions when they came out

Only as Koush updates the download locations and the scripts are set up for the correct installation procedure....

It's rebooted a couple times from the browser... I'll try a less extreme kernel, I guess ( on 250-1250 LV, which worked okay on 1.0.0, but whatever). I also lost my cool new leaked gmail 2.2.1 and the new standalone apk isn't installing.

    Seems nice and snappy, otherwise.

I guess I just mean that I wish that once it showed up IN ROM Manager, it would actually install from there. Maybe it's just sapphire releases that have problems, but I seem to always have to install them by manually downloading the zips and going into recovery. No big deal.

Doing my backup and such manually made me realize that I was almost out of space on my SD card (!), so it wasn't a total waste of time.

So far only gripe is that it eats my battery with the kernel 1.1 I chose. Blazing fast and smooth.

Same here... love Sapphire, but I need that feature to work right as I use it all the time. Hope they get it fixed soon.

Battery life is way worse, especially in idle conditions, than sapphire 1.0 with the same kernel.

Need a theme for this? Well, I have been wanting the blue-glass theme from 0.8.4 since they stopped supporting it. I learned how to port it and add into an update.zip, so I thought I would share it here. I take no credit for the theme, just for the port. I also take no responsibility for what happens. However, its working just fine for me. Download below, apply as a ROM (or any other theme). Rename to update.zip if you are using sprecovery.

Blue Glass - No Fonts (Sapphire 1.1)
    MD5: F1B5A9E7A5C62957744C2979527FA6AD

    Enjoy! :D:D:D

Edit: I just realized rapidshare will only allow this to be downloaded 10 times. If someone would be kind enough to upload/host it somewhere else, I'm sure others would be grateful. Thanks.

Edit: I also ported this to sapphire 1.1.1, if anyone wants it please send me a PM.

Nice solid ROM so far, but where are the themes? It's been out for at least a few weeks and there are still no themes for it. Big turn off for me. I've been checking every day, but if they don't show up soon I'm switching to something else.
