Just wanted to add, had the Usage Access List bug. Where certain apps (like Greenify) ask for Usage Permission and brings you to the settings. Usually, the app will be listed, but it isn't, on my phone at least.

After looking up workarounds or a fix, the easiest one I've found is mentioned here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/guide-workaround-apps-access-to-usage-t3535705

It involves installed another app called App Ops which is free, giving it root access, then when an app asks for usage access, open App Ops, find the App listed there, and change it's Usage Access option from Default to On.

Hope this is useful to someone! If there is a more permanent workaround, please let me know!

Having some issues with SMS. In the past, I've had issues with sending MMS (realized I had to shut off WiFi and get on LTE, then MMS would go through fine). Now I seem to have the opposite issue.

I've tried using the main Messaging App, Pulse SMS, and now Textra. I can send GIFs through the later two. When I tried to type out an emoji (not from a picker) and send it, my friend won't receive it. Plaintext will send SOMETIMES. (I sent a text that said "Testing..." last night and she received it this morning. Other texts I sent last night never arrived. In Pulse (what I used at the time) the "sending..." dialog never went away.

I'm on Boost Mobile and noticed on this ROM, it says I'm on Sprint. I know it's the same network but in case it was useful.

Going through APN settings, I noticed a lot of premade profiles. I've tried the top three Boost ones (Boost Mobile Internet EHRPD, Boost Mobile LTE, and Boost Mobile MMS) and neither seem to work. Also tried rebooting phone.

Any clues? Stuff I may be missing?

Thanks!

Another update, this morning, Textra I believe asked with SIM Card to use (?) and listed two options. I forget the exact wording, but the first and selected option was a non-option (None or something?) And the second said Boost. I selected the second.

Textra no longer shows a "!" Symbol after sending texts which may mean it sent through. However, my friend is still not receiving texts. Funny enough, I get all of hers?

Driving me crazy. Aside from a few things, I really want to love this ROM. Any ideas?

Yes, I've been hearing a buddy saying the same thing. He solved it by
1. Comparing ROM md5 to DL.
2. Redownloading gapps and comparing md5's. I was running the 02202017 build yesterday with no problems like you mentioned. I did, however rebuild it yesterday with V4a as a simple personal preference (02232017, not posted) and still running the build flawless. SMS works fine here on this too. I'll upload the V4A build for ya today to try.
Also, I get Boost Mobile on my device, no problems. I'm starting to wonder what's causing the issue, the ROM or Boost Mobile playing with the network. I'm actually having trouble locating the source of the issue since it's not happening for everyone or on every flash. I know a corrupted gapps zip has been a bane on everyone.. Maybe @devilschild26 may have more info on his resolution, as he's not having issues either since he reflashed with zips having matching md5's for the ROM & zips. He said he went with minimal but I use aroma zip

Another possibility I'm considering: my HDD may be nearing it's end if it's building bad ROMs I know should work fine.. I'm hoping not tho. [emoji37]

Hey Dude,

Thanks so much for the reply. A few things that may be useful...

First, I had a successful run with this ROM before, with SMS and MMS working I believe. This was when I posted the workaround I found for the Usage Access problem using App Ops. It sort of bugged me a little, so I gave Pac Rom and Bliss a shot. They seemed to work fine too, (didn't run them through their paces long) but it seemed to be missing something that makes me want Revolution to work :p.

I use TWRP and opengapps micro distro.

So I reinstalled Revolution, but with a few different changes that may be important...

1. I flashed Viper4Android using these packages... https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/viperaudio-viperatmos-3-8-sq-driver-t3289075 (Specifically, the ViperAtmos 5.4 Stock). I've never been able to get Viper4Android installed any other way (getting that issue where it keeps saying it needs to reboot or something and nothing changes). This was the same for previous ROMs I tried on my phone (Carbon for example).

2. I attempted to flash Super SU because I always have a similar issue to this like Viper. Asking to install it and rebooting and nothing happened. I downloaded the latest flashable version from the chainfire website and it worked... but then I still get asked to update, which is frustrating.

3. On this run, in TWRP, I flashed all of these things immediately after another. So... Revolution, Open GApps, SuperSU, Viper4Android. No errors.

I'm currently on the run, but will try to do a reinstall, verifying md5's, and just flashing Rev and Gapps first before adding the others on top to see if screws with it somehow.

Should I use your v4a version even though it never seems to work for me? (The Viper4Android functionality, not the texting. Never even considered them related).

Thanks dude!

Try it, but I think the SMS issue seems to be triggered by sending MMS. At least it did to me, was flawless until I sent an MMS.. I got myself a full logcat of the issue in the process after it happened to me. I'm in the process of checking thru my PC to see if I had a hardware issue adding to whatever problem we are having

Just reporting back...

Reinstalled your new version w/ v4a built in (20170223), and flashed OpenGapps micro 20170224 (hah! Looks like they released a new one?)...

SMS and MMS working flawlessly now in both directions.

The built-in Viper was still weird for me, so I flashed the version I mentioned earlier and that's fine.

As for my SuperSU issues, turns out I WASN'T flashing the latest version, and when I did (found here: https://www.chainfire.eu/ , click the Google Plus link and it'll show you the page for the flashable version) and after doing that, no need to upgrade messages.

Thanks for all your help. Still not sure what fixed it. Everything checked out MD5-wise. The only differences that probably make sense is the update you made, and a more recent gapps update.

That's Awesome! Definitely thank you for reporting back, was wondering.. [emoji41] Lemme know if anything changes and/or you find the exact trigger.

Hey man, so still using the ROM and still loving it. Only thing I've noticed is on certain WiFi networks, it keeps asking me to sign back in (like at my gym. Their WiFi sucks though). No problems at home on personal WiFi.

And YouTube is out of sync by just a bit to annoy on audio and video. Any video I watch. Any ideas?

Still loving this thing!!

Doh, I'm an idiot. I actually thought "well obviously I have" but I guess I didn't because after clearing it, everything works fine now. Thanks :).
