Hi, You only need one FAT32 partition for the new Gingerbread ROM.
If you use a third party app do not name your newly formatted partition.
After you re-partition you need to format using the X8 just to be safe.

    cheers :)

    k. thanks for the valuable replies...

i did it and it works great... but im not satisfied with the Rom.. bit unstable..

so, i decided to go back to floyo 0.15... xrecovery backup n restore
now my xrecovery says md5 mismatch... really annoying me.

    what to do..

    Hi,

    a) I have just updated my post above for stability for CM7-X8-J005 if you wanna give it another try.

    b) you have a corrupted froyo-0.15 file. (i) Download again from developer's website (ii) Unzip to desktop and check unzip logs for issues during unzip.

Note: turn off your <usb debugging> when you are copying the files to your phone.

    cheers :)

    Hi all,

I agree with gabeyong that the J005 is the best rom.
(I have tried floyo-15 but I think J005 is far better).

I have also tried v006a (is also good with less apps and options that J005).

Bluetooth does not work in all 2.3.3 (j005 and v006a) (in floyo is OK) - this problem has also been reported by others in Xda forums.

So, I propose to focus on one version (possibly j005) try to fix the bugs and then in will be the perfect solution for X8.

    Cheers

    HI,

Yes, Rooted+xRecovery [JIT option can be enabled]
...but with Quadrant scored around 1000, I didn't bother to enable JIT.

    cheers :)

    Hey,

There is no multi-touch on the Xperia X8
It has a single touch - TFT capacitive touchscreen.
There is no software option to enable multi-touch because it is hardware limited.

Sorry for the bad news dude....

    cheers :)

p/s both Froyo 2.2 and Gingerbread 2.3 supports multi-touch if you have a phone with a multi-touch screen.

Hi. I want to be clear about this, after reading racht's post, I'm getting confuse with multitouch thingy.

    Quoted from racht @ xda

He sounds like multitouch is possible, because its related with its kernel. Not the touchscreen instead. just askin, because I can't get rid of this multitouch for x8 out from my mind !

    hi all

    hi gabeyong,
im now running 2.3.3 without any trouble.. its superb..

i hv a strange question.. im having a backup of 2.2 floyo with app2sd n all apps installed on sd card, ( probably they wud be on ext2 ).
i formated the sd card in order to work with 2.3.3 nw if i revert back to 2.2 do i need to again go for partitioning my sdcard n will that backup installs all my apps again on sdcard???

    Hi,

    That is a good question.
And I hope the guys in this forum can help shed some light as well.

I hope you made a backup of your data in your 2nd ext2 partition.
I don't think xRecovery will write data back onto the 2nd partition.

I think the correct method is to re-partition your SD card and copy manually all the data back into the ext2 partition and then restore with xRecovery back to 2.2.

    Cheers :)

You LL see "ghosts" of your apps but most of them will need re installation! ;-)

Btw,since this 005 ROM is stable,
do you guys think we could use an update.zip to make the Bluetooth work in the immediate future?
I d hate to set up the x8 AGAIN!!!

    Single-touch pinch zoom.
Cannot do much more since Xperia X8 has a single-touch Capacitive Screen

    cheers :)

BTW,I downloaded the 006 version last night which has working Bt and WiFi but got confused by the files in the zip. Google Apps, Live wallpapers and a separate update.zi p file?! Why all these files?
Seems a hassle to install compared to 005 ROM...
