So I rooted my phone last night after many hours of googling to try to figure out a way to reverse tether, ad hoc seemed like an easy solution with the root, but after rooting none of the ad hoc apps seem to work at all. Is there any way I can reverse tether for free with a rooted device?

Xposed Framework, and a couple of its modules- Hack Connectivity and USB Tunnel. Look up Reverse Tethering 3.19 on xda. 3.18 works well for me.
