Does anyone know how to remove the stock apps using root explorer? I search for the app and delete the .apk but the app stays in my app drawer after reboot. What am i doing wrong?

Make sure you press the top right button to mount r/w. i can get passed that but my deleted files seem to come back.

When I click the button it doesn't change. The grey button up top says "Remount R/W" and when i touch it nothing happens. Which version of the program are you using? I'm using 2.0. I also keep getting force closes whenever I hit like the home button or something.

If you can't mount as r/w then you don't have root.

I have root, and have removed apps through app explorer before. However with dd10 it will "delete" the app but it will still be there. Any ideas?

Interesting because after I rooted the phone I went into Connectbot to check if rooting worked and my $ turns in to a #. in the local connection screen

Are you on android 1.5 or 2.1?

If on 1.5, you should be using one of the SDX kernels for root access and should be able to mount system as r/w with no problem.

If on 2.1, you'll need the v5 of the root script (http://www.grathwohl.me/uploads/android/joeykrim-SDX-a2.1-root-v5.zip) for persistent root. I just tested on my phone w/ DD10 and root v5 and I can mount r/w in /system no problem.

If on 2.1, what version of the root script are you using?

If you're using any other version than v5 above, you're doing it wrong.

Problem solved! I was using a bad version of root explorer. I'm good now.
