So I dont see how everyone says rooting the nexus one is easier than any other android phone. I had my G1 unlocked and rooted unlocked in uner 30-45 mins. I can not get my Nexus rooted for the life of me. I've tried on 2 seperate laptops (1 Vista, 1 Win 7), and neither one will work. I mean I cant even get started cause I cant get the drivers downloaded. Any help or am I missing something?

On my comp that has Vista I cant get the devise manager to recognise the phone, and on Windows 7 it will not install the drivers. If anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

It recognizes my phone but when I goto the Device Management it shows the Nexus one but also a yellow ! and shows no drivers. I've tried using the Android SDK and still nothing.

lol ok, no go. When trying to run fastboot it says its failed to start because AdbWinApi.dll was not found.
I appreciate the help, but i'm so dumbfounded right now I don't know what to do.

Nope I had to use SDK, but i got the drivers in.... Now I'm working on the recovery flash part. Getting a unknown partition 'recovery-RA-nexus-v1.7.0.img' cannot determine image file name

Cancel that I was missing a word. I am now able to flash roms. took 1 1/2 days but im rooted :)
