Will exploits for 5.1 lg devices be possible to work with the g4? I dont have balls to be the first to experiment with my g4. Im not familiar with how lg does things. Lets get the show started

Well if you have an international that has an unlockable bootloader, all you need for root is TWRP and the supersu zip file. Flash that in recovery and you have root.
That is the beauty of an unlocked bootloader.

Yea... I don't. We all have US version. I have t mobile. They are the easiest carrier to work with as far as unlocking the bootloader is concerned.

I actually just got an international version. Are you saying my bootloader is already unlocked and all i have to do to have root is flash the supersu zip file and add twrp?

Ok so I'm continuing research on this and i cannot find answers. From what i understand my bootloader on my international g4 is unlockable but doesnt come unlocked. One thing I'm trying to research is whether or not there will ultimately be a one-click method of rooting that would also include unlocking the bootloader too? I dont have a computer (phone is my computer) so im hoping for a relatively easy way for rooting

The EU version is BL unlockable. Root has been obtained on all other versions but has not been released for public consumption.

Now does that not yet released method include an automatic bootloader unlock? I guess what I'm trying to ask is this: would any upcoming root method include an automatic bootloader option or would I definitely need a computer to do this part?

You'd more than likely need a computer. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any device where the bootloader unlock method doesn't require a computer of some sort.

All of the manufacturer supported bootloader unlocks require a computer.

Correct. you need a pc to unlock. it's is much the same process as HTC. you need to do it through the LG site to get the unlock bin to proceed. there will probably not be a one click for boot loader unlock

VZW be careful. Only works if you're on 11a
