After a day of successfully using cyanogen, my phone does not start any more. I have had it charging for a while and nothing happens as I hold the power button. Nothing on screen, no LED, the only LED that is active is the charging white one on the side. I'm so lost and have no idea what to do.

Rooted with easy root, if it matters.

At first it was a computer. I did that for about 30 minutes and realized that it wasn't working, so I shifted to a wall charger and it's been there for about 45 minutes.

EDIT: Got my son's phone and swapped the batteries (he's still sleeping, hehe). My phone now has charge, his does not. His phone is not rooted, if the worse comes I'll send him to verizon and let them take care of it :D.

So it had nothing to do with the rooting, I was just panicking. Lesson learned. Thanks guys.

Haha, technically I pay for it so it's mine :D.

It's odd, but everything works now. His is charging and retaining perfectly, mine charges and retains just fine. I dunno what happened but it's fixed now

It's possible that your phone was on the whole time. I've run into this issue a couple times in the past. My phone is black as if it's off. Holding the power button does nothing because it's technically already on and it's just bringing up the power menu, but you can't see it. I don't know how I figured this out, but the only solution was to pull the battery in order to power off the phone. When I turned it back on, it was fine.

I don't know if this is what happened to yours, but it's certainly possible.

I know it's common with laptops. Possibly the capacitors just needed discharging by taking out the battery and hitting the power button. Since you took it out and swapped it with your son's battery, that might have done the trick.
