So a couple of days back I woke up and opened my phone to wake it up only to find a black screen. It sort of responds as I can take screenshots (the animation plays) and the notification light still flickers. In addition because I have developer options set up to show a little circle where I tap it shows that and is perfectly normal. I tried dragging from the top left and once it did sort-of flicker but it doesn't do that anymore even after a reboot. It was kind of like when you drag upward to bring up emergency call.
I had heard that there is a problem for people who use auto brightness as a recent update made the brightness 0. However when I tried to connect it to my PC to run ADB and manually change the brightness my PC didn't recognize the device at all in any USB port.
I've tried to reset my device by going into recovery but it just responds with "No command", pressing the VOL UP key for 15 seconds followed by tapping the power button (without releasing the VOL UP key) does nothing no matter how many time I try. Either I'm doing something wrong or it just isn't working.
The only idea I have to explain this is the fact i have WifiProtector set to bring up it's warning on screen if it detects any abnormal network activity (this happens regularly on my network for some unknown) reason, when it does a internal scan of the network) and it did tend to 'glitch out' in a similar way if the phone was locked and it did do this just as I was going to sleep. However I suspect this is not the case as it's never been this severe.
Help is much appreciated, I'm at my wit's end pulling my hair out here.
Edit: Cleared up a bit of information
