Root Rooted stuck on Splash screen what to do?

Ok I had the Virtuous v 2.6 with clockwork recover and S-off. I was using the phone today and it just froze so I rebooted and it stayed on the splash screen so I rebooted to hboot and then went to recovery which wont open it just goes to splash screen. So I did the downgrade back to 1.00 radio and .77 HBOOT to try and start over and it still gets stuck on the flash screen. Please someone what do I do?

Wow, that's a serious stroke of bad luck right there. So I'm assuming you followed the .77/1.0 radio thread from XDA? Meaning you are now back to stock and unrooted?

I think it would be wiser to use the 2.2 ruu not the 2.1 ruu. We are a 2.2 device now (we got the update in late august) and it may be beneficial to use the2.2 ruu

Ok I am at the complete stock radio which is 1.ect and the 2.1 android but like I said earlier I cant get past the splash screen. Hboot works fine but the recovery wont start it just goes to the splash screen. Any suggestions for the next step I should take. S-Off is still set. Is there any way to put it back to S-on and just take it in since its still under the 1 year manufacture warranty?

so you were able to downgrade radio and rom but it still won't boot?
How do you know you are on 2.1 if the phone won't boot?

Were you overclocking?
Did you have set cpu to start on boot? My first guess would be an unstable kernel but what do i know.

i would try factory reset from hboot and see what happens.

No overclocking or anything just using my phone normally and it froze so I rebooted and bam it got stock on the flash screen and the rest is history I just need some steps to try and get something running on it again?

like i said, load up hboot and do a factory reset.
see if that helps. if not we will try something else.

ok I went in and did the clear memory if thats what you mean by factory reset, and it is still getting stuck on the splash screen.

I'm on .92 hboot so it may be different. at the bottom it has a factory reset option.
so when you select recovery it does the same thing?

The problem is when Im in hboot and select recovery it just gets stuck on the splash screen should I try flashing a new recovery?

ya I would appreciate it and the steps on how to do it. Thanks for being patient. I had no problems rooting my phone and it has been running fine for a month and it just crapped out on me so I really dont feel like having a $200 dollar brick laying round.

its just a pb31 img you flash in hboot.
i tried to attach and got an error from android forum.
will try again.

did you try it? just take the pb31img posted there and flash it in hboot.

Well i fallowed all the directions and everything is installed and still no boot it is just stuck at the flash screen its almost like something is messed up deeper is there a way to format the partions or something. I dont know what to do other then restore it back to the factory 2.1 and 1 radio and try and take it into verizon. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated

In the midst of all the things you have been doing, did you ever format your sdcard to FAT32? (I copied everything off mine, reformatted it, and then recopied everything back) Try removing the sdcard and booting up without it.

ya i made sure i was FAT32 and everything installed fine im thinking I have a legit brick. Is there anything I can do to salvage it?

Well all is solved I took it into Verizon showed them it just gets stuck on the splash screen he pulled the battery out and tried it again and no questions ask, said he was sending me a new one. So that solves the problem. Thanks for your patients and help.

I'm actually having the same exact problem but I bought my phone off of craigslist and had it flashed to cricket. I have no insurance I would have to buy a whole new phone....has anyone heard of a resolution for this issue
