As title implies, this is my 2nd droid here. The first one went fine - Ran the app, unzipped after recovery, downloaded image. Now its booting up - stuck at...

    "Welcome to SP Recovery...yadayada

    Backing up before installing...
    Attempting Nandroid backup."

Stays here. Cannot get into recovery mode. Please help.

Had the same problem but no Micro SD card reader. I was able to get back into my phone by removing the SD card, powering up without the card. Then I was given the option to reboot, did (inserted the card again before powered up), and all is well. I was then able to use my file manager to delete the nandroid backup files. Damn, what a morning!!!!

Just another reason to manually root, or atleast use droidrootpro/helper instead.

Actually this time it was during manual operations (I posted here because of the similar nandroid problem). Was playing with some Metamorph stuff and a related update.zip when all hell broke lose. No matter how hard I go out of my way to brick this phone there always seems to me another life. This is one resilient piece of equipment. As they say, live and learn.
