I'm trying to learn about rooting my Milestone.

One of the features of Android is that it runs each app in its own sandboxed process so that one app cannot easily make trouble for another.

But if I root my Milestone - will all apps then run as root so that one malicious app can allow a cracker to hack into my personal data?

No, Generally (read always) what you'll find, is that when an app requests root permissions, you'll be asked to allow it, either once or always.

Pretty much all root methods install a 'whitelist' app for you to specify and remove root permissions you've set in the past, its all quite safe, assuming you don't allow root permission to dodgy stuff

one question..is there any word if anyone's working on cracking the bootloader? so in essence rooting the milestone becomes just like rooting a droid.
