lets say i downgrade my phone from Froyo 2.2 (hboot 1.06) to eclair 2.1 with hboot .98 or .93

would i be able to root my phone with the current version of unrevoked?

there is no root for the software on my phone right now so i was just wondering if this would be a good idea?

The downgrading is for getting pre Froyo for when unrevoked couldn't root Froyo.

It may help in cases like this too but the downgrade was for gsm devices. I have no idea if it works on cdma desires though. You'd have to ask teppic74 in his thread at xda.

You'd also need a 2.1 Rom for the tool to use (RUU). Is there one available for your device? If you're cdma (only seen that hboot on cdma) the standard 2.1 will break your phone

I would wait until unrevoked get around the issue personally
