    Either should work I believe. I know z4root is popular.

    Root is root. There aren't different forms of it for all intents and purposes. Root doesn't in and of itself introduce any features; what is does is allow apps greater access to the phone's OS.

    You'll want to make sure you have Superuser installed (most root apps include this) and Busybox. Once you have these things you're good to go for using apps needing root access.

    Z4 has everything you need to root. Read the list of supported devices first. I rooted my son's LG Optidog S without a hitch.
