    Hey there!

Hmm it seems the Apollo (orange branded version of Galaxy S) has no way of getting super user access (root) right now, check this forum out on XDA FORUMS:

    [Q] "Forced upload by key pressing" - ? - xda-developers

but this is strange since it has the same internals as the galaxy S by the looks of it...

I guess you cud try using the galaxy S rooting method but this is risky...
and i am not too familiar with kernel devlepment...so u might need to request this from XDA forums?

Sorry man i am outta options here....

Here are some others with the same need.

We'll try to round up others like you who may have the info you need.

You're likely to find the initial info, when it breaks, at the XDA developers forum. I don't see a listing there yet for your phone (also known as the i5800 or i5801) - but this is a good place to bookmark and monitor -

    Main Page - XDA-Developers

PS - see also the thread suggested by Stinky Stinky

+1 for wanting to root i5801.

The [OFFICIAL] Samsung Galaxy 3 GT-i5800 (root, gpsfix, upgrading) thread method has been successfully done by some users, but others have found their IMEI's changed to zeros and others has had their wifi MAC codes changed. No one knows what causes these changes for some and no changes for others.

Hi. I too want to root my i5801. I can't start the phone in recovery mode, though the required 'update.zip' is already pushed into the phone with help of 'one click root fix'.

But why do we need to root Apollo ?
Samsung has already put a lot of important stuff like Swype, etc.

Customized ROMs are not available for this phone
WiFi tethering is useless in countries without 3G
Looks can be changed with LauncherPro, ADW, Helix, Home++, etc.
LiveWallpapers can be great but not deserving risks of rooting.

    Kindly correct me wherever wrong.

    Thanks............

Rooting lets you install apps that need root, such as screenshot (much better than plugging into PC to capture), adbwireless, teethering, titanium backup, etc. and even remove bloatware.

Unable to root New Galaxy 3 phone using the [OFFICIAL] Samsung Galaxy 3 GT-i5800 (root, gpsfix, upgrading) methods. When you type SU <Enter> in the terminal emulator it says "SU:not found" :(....
