Root Rooting question.

    If I root my Samsung Epic will I still receive updates that I normally would if I didnt root my phone like gingerbread for example or would that completely negate the point of rooting a phone??

    Should be in the rooting section, no?

    It depends on your ROM, some allow updates but most do not. When an update comes out, you can flash the new build to your phone.

    Even if the ROM does allow it, I believe you need the stock apps in order to receive the update... Unless Sprint/Samsung has changed this since the last update.

    Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. ROM's will be developed and available long before the update is actually released...
