Has anyone successfully rooted the Eris yet?
root speculation in re: to update
another root thread
more root stuff
My question stands...
Caddy I have looked through those, do you think I'm just another n00b posting questions before searching the forums lol?
[PRJ] Rooting the Droid Eris - Page 81 - xda-developers
81 pages deep. No one has rooted yet.
following it every day (hour).
learning alot but...not doing it to my phone until its certifiably working
no i dont think you are a noob, but i did answer your question
Then you should have figured out that the answer was no.
Very good champ, the answer I was at was no, I'm looking to see if anyone else has had luck... use the common sense, oh wait maybe your lacking that, common sense isn't so common these days
And regardless I'm looking for a definitive answer, not trying to scroll through pages of off-topic garbage...
root is a pretty nice thing to have
it is top priority on many peoples list for these devices
people are trying to get info
if there was a break through it would be posted in that thread, last page, 2 click.
i know you aren't a noob, i know you know these things, which is why threads like this get answers like they do.
don't tout your 733T forum knowledge then ask to be spoon fed.
I am 100% sure that once the Eris is rooted there will be multiple threads blowing up here.
when the eris is rooted..... IT WILL BE BIG!!!
Seems they've pretty much hit a brick wall. They're trying some other, random stuff but it's not looking good.
Amazing how the DROID was rooted so fast..dudes have been working on the Eris for over a month.. and are just as close as they were before.
droid got rooted because some idiot programer at moto left a hole that allowed owner to bypass the sig check while updating.
the eris does not have this exploit so we keep getting stopped by the sig check.
so the next step is finding an exploit in the kernel since fastboot went bust.
I'm quite aware. .. I'm sure you've seen me on xda.
sorry didn't read the name thought it was a question LOL!!
Nahh nah I stay mad updated on the root status.
Just it's amazing how hard this thing is for the actual smart hackers to...well..hack.
*yawn* wake me up when there's a one-click rooting method.
xD Like the iPod touch?
For my own education, please explain what rooting means.
It completely unlocks your phone. I'm looking forward to being able to move my apps to the sd card instead of using the internal memory. Should make the phone more responsive.
Thank you for the prompt answer.
We want root NOW!
Thank you for the links, candyman.
