Currently the nexus 10 has a beasty dual A15 chip with mali t604(correct if im wrong).
But I have heard in rumours that google are instroducing another nexus 10 tablet with the same screen resolution and size, with the same 2GB of Ram but the thing thats changed is there is going tk be a Quad core A15 chip. Furthermore powered with an 8 core Mali T628 graphics chip.

The reason google maybe doing this is because some people have been experiencing lags and other issues in terms of performance because of such a high screen resolution and a big OS.

If these rumours are correct this new Nexus 10 will be extremely powerful. This may also be possible so quickly as apple did this with the jump from the iPad 3 to the iPad 4. Only time will tell.

Keep in mind they are not preparing to even announce the new Model until Feb at MWC. Then we could be waiting up to 6 months for a release.

The current generation Nexus 10 is a fantastic device at a great price. I'd pull the trigger now if you want a high quality Android tablet, because the N10 is great.

Worst case scenario, the new N10 comes out, you sell your old one, and buy the new one. Tablets do not tend to depreciate in value much, if at all.

I sold my Moto Xoom 4G for $400 to buy the Nex10, I am sure that I can sell it for somewhere close to $350. Everyone where I work knows how well I take care of my equipment.

Plus it looks like there could be a whole new pricing structure for new tablets coming out. Rumor that the 7" Tab 3 could be as low as $150???? I like the sound of that!!

The main problem I see from users is the lag shown on this version of the 10. I'm not sure how as the processor and the graphics are supposed to be good but then has google noticed a problem so that's why they are introducing a quad core model with a better GPU
    so soon?

Personally I want a 10 to replace my ipad but I don't want to feel like its a 'downgrade' if it suffers lag?

All speculation until you actually hear it from the horses mouth, I highly doubt you'll see or hear anything until at least Google I/O

A few people talk about "lag" on their Nexus 10. I have never noticed any lag on mine. I play lots of games, read the news, watch YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and more. I guess my experience has been better than others.

I think it's important to remember the people who are "experiencing lag" are the exception and not the rule. The overwhelming majority of N10 owners are thoroughly satisfied with the speed & quality of the device.

The device has a slight lag to it, even out of the box, but nothing too bad. I think they are going though for like the surface where responce is almost instantanious. Hard to do pushing this resolution compared to 1366x768..............

Didn't experience any kind of lag or slowdown on my friends N10. I've been trying to buy one, but it's always out of stock.

ps: This will probably be the second gen N10, and more than likely wont be sold until after July, at that point 8 months would have passed making it the usual length for a new device to be launched.

Don't know where you are, but in the UK Play Store, both versions were available yesterday. Edit....Actually, they are available now - as per the time stamp of this post!

Technically speaking most OEM's already have the next gen products as they roll out the "current"stuff. That's the tech market... nothing new really. I worked for a tech company for awhile, I had several model tablets roughly a year before they went to market. Get used to it.

The lag that I see is in PDF documents. I mostly use my N10 for work. We have a large amount of manuals we use that contain extensive bookmarks. Most of my coworkers use Ipads. It does bother me a little bit that the 1st generation Ipad is able to scroll through PDF documents smoother than my brand new N10. I don't blame the hardware though. I think that the office suites are poorly written and don't handle PDF documents very well. I've tried every single PDF viewer there is and they all are very poor.

Download Repligo PDF Reader. You'll have to pay for it, but it brings excellent performance for PDF reading.

That's exactly what I will be doing, Army. I'm hoping Google announces the new N10 at I/O. Here's to hoping that they will only have 32GB/64GB models (plus, HSPA+ connectivity).
