S4 with 4.3 (MK2) want to install CM

I was able to root the phone with the following method.

Verizon Galaxy S4 MK2 root with one click! - xda-developers

I then tried to use "GooManager" to install a boot manager so I could then install CM. However that failed. It failed and would not boot and gave this error message.

Could not do normal boot error - xda-developers

So I'm lost at how I can get CM on the phone at this point with 4.3. Any steps?

If I'm not able to put CM on it at this point how can I get it back to stock samsung (as in I opened the box and turn it on software).

You can't put CM on it . Safestrap is your only hope. You will be restricted to TW based roms.

    Sorry what is TW roms?

If that is the case how can I go back to the original software at this point or am I SOL?

TW = touchwiz based roms. Can you factory reset? If not you may need to look for " Odin back to stock " on xda then probably re-root. If you Odin back to stock be sure to use the correct file for your original build. After you get back to stock-rooted look for safestrap recovery for your build.

    Thanks.

I am using the phone like normal at this point (it still is rooted). The only exception is that when it boots it says "Samsung custom" with a padlock thats unlocked.

I can try factory resetting it but I'm kinda nervous about doing that as I don't know what thats going to do.

If I go look for "Odin back to stock" and look for the original build do I need to look for 4.2 as it came from factory or do I need to look for the 4.3 MK2 build?

Sounds like you don't need to factory reset or Odin. All you need to do is install the latest safestrap and you can flash roms. Be sure to read up on safestrap & roms that work with safestrap. When you flash a Rom , be sure to use the correct modules for your MK2 build to flash along with your Rom.

Well I was just wanting to reset it back to factory default. As in no root, no rom no nothing. As if I opened the box with 4.3 on it.

Will i still need to safestrap it and flash with the rom is that correct?

Well, by all means, try factory reset first. If that doesn't work, then the Odin process mentioned before.

Factory data rest won't remove root. You'd have to flash a stock build via odin.
The custom lock symbol simply means you've rooted the divice. Doesn't hurt anything, just lets Verizon and Samsung know you've tampered with the device if you ever bring it in for repair/replacement. Again, flashing via odin will remove that symbol as you will again be stock.

Look for MJ7 or mk2 factory image and flash via odin, you'll be back to stock.
Then root again and install safetrap.
