Root [Verizon] Safestrap 3.72 Issue

Galaxy s4 VZW nc5/4.4. ss3.72. Upgraded to 4.4.2 using surge's methodolgy. All looks good except: When I reboot to recovery by selecting recovery after the power button long press or by using the power/vol/home keys it boots into "android system recovery" vice the ss touch recovery. If I reboot to recovery from inside the ss app, it goes to the safestrap touch recovery. I did a factory reset but issue still exists.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

3.72 must be entered using the splash screen at boot or via the SS reboot menu at this time. Using the Recovery reboot from the power menu on VZW sch-i545 has same effect for me.
