Samsung Captivate Kies

Im new to the android world and this forum but hopefully i can get some help. i just bought a Samsung captivate and i want to install Kies on my P.C. (running Vista) but i heard there is no U.S. version (U.K. version) and you have to install certain drivers. I have no idea what i should do.How should i go about doing this correctly?
