if you're not comfortable with flashing your own device i'd stay away from samsung... it is a pretty cool phone with android 2.3.4 (didn't have SODs until now), depending on what you need.

if you want to play lots of games save up for a galaxy s or an htc desire, otherwise i wouldn't know why you'd want to get a bigger/better phone, it's very light, fits my small hands perfectly but that's sth you have to try, browsing is pretty quick and the device is very easy to root and flash.

just don't do the same mistake i did last year when i bought the htc wildfire, if you're not sure that it's enough, go for a faster one. oh and by the way, 300

I'll say this much, it is much better than wildfire s and many others in its Range, if you can extend your range by a little more, you could buy the glaaxy sl, but in this range it is the best (even according to gsmarena, it trumps wildfire s and nokia c6-01)

i would advice you to look for phone that has future update already planned..
SGA is already outdated with in a year of its release.. i would suggest you to look for phones like Sony Ericsson which have many new phones with good configuration and comparatively less expensive..and many of them has a planned ICS update.

    What Mackinon said .
All of 2011 and 2012 Sony phones are being upgraded to ics(with exception of xperia play )
Samsung has put a dual core requirement for ics.
So galaxy ace and ace plus wont be getting ics .
I think you can get a dual core Sony for roughly 200

I dont think even dual core cuts it for ICS on samsung as the galaxy ace 2 got no ICS.

I think the advice to go sony is good, as I think samsung have been poor on ICS policy.

Guys on XDA are working hard to get a ICS rom out for the ace but so far the camera is a sticky point.

Samsung has promised ICS update to Ace 2 and it will surely get it by the end of this year!

Get the Ace 2 which is twice as fast as Ace and is 18000 INR and will release at the end of June in India(already released in some parts of europe and russia)! It is the best mobile at its price.

Guys is there any way SGA will get an official ICS?
I did some searching and found that according to google all Gingerbread phone are qualified to run ICS and also samsung has replied on tweeter that they will come out with an ICS update for ACE some were in the middle of this year.. and since samsungs development cycle is around 4-6 months they should be coming out with a new update soon i guess but the odds of getting an ICS are very few.

its not as good price as keeping my ace tho is it ;)

I am not replacing a phone I only brought 4 months ago :)

Most likely I will be keeping this at least 2 years unless it breaks. Or I have a specific feature I need on a newer phone.

However as I stated on XDA when I do get a new phone the chances of it been samsung is now low as I dont like their support.

No. Ace wont get it. If Samsung does so, the sales of Ace 2 will go down. So they won't update the Ace even if it is capable of running ICS.
