Help Samsung Galaxy S2 X freezing problems with lock screen

Hello everyone,

I got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S2 X phone yesterday, but I am having freezing problems. The problem occurs in two different ways. If I attempt to unlock phone, open messaging app and begin typing, the phone chokes up, and I cannot do anything. This same problem also occurs if I have received a new message and attempt to unlock the phone with the new message icon. It almost feels like I am going too quickly for the phone?

Has anyone else has a similar issue? Or do you know how to fix this problem? This is my first smartphone, so I'm still a little confused about everything.
