Help Samsung Galaxy S5 Doesn't Receive Texts, but Hangouts Does

Basically, I send texts through the default messaging app, IT IS SET TO BE MY MESSAGING APP, and people can receive them. However, when they text back, it gets sent to my Hangouts (Google) app rather than my messaging app. I've logged out of hangouts, uninstalled hangouts etc. but all my texts still get sent to hangouts instead of my default messaging app.

Have you gone to:

Settings/Applications/Default apps/Messages/

and looked there to see what the default SMS product is?
if it is anything other than the one you want, clear it out.

Yes, what I meant when I said "IT IS SET TO BE MY MESSAGING APP" is that that setting is set to Messages.

have you used your PC and logged into Google+ and turned off all of their features there? I personally don't care for Hangouts at all.

I did that when my Contacts List got co-mingled with Google Contacts. Something I did not want.
