As we prepare for the iPhone 5 to start flying off store shelves, Samsung is reportedly already planning for the Galaxy S4.

The Korea Times reported Sunday that an unnamed Samsung official confirmed the company would be unveiling a new Galaxy smartphone at next year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and will have the new phone to market by March.

That would make it a very short product cycle for the Galaxy S III, which the company released in May.

why so fast? it's mildly upsetting, especially for users who purchased the s3 (at top prices) then have it be old news just a few months after.

Isn't this normal? The S, S2, and S3 were all announced between March to May, and each were released the year after the other. Just as iPhones are launched every year at September, Galaxy S's are launched every year at May or June, with an announcement a couple of months prior. Same thing for a new Nexus every November or December.

That's about a year, why not?
And If the s3 was slightly delayed, why delay the next upgrade also?
If sufficiently advanced I'm Very willing to upgrade every half year....and not much more than a year in any case.

Yes, we're overpaying -compared to tablet pricing- collectively we've become mindless lemmings.

The ideal solution is a tablet (or NetBook w tablet/smartphone elements), which we would carry in backpack, purse, pus, ars, strapped to pants/skirt belt....whatever...
then, wirelessly connected to that would come Google glasses and/or a small combo dumbphone/remote for the hand with possibly voice/gesture/mouse features.

The future is either some version of above, or something like that cigarette case sized computer with project on multiple surfaces abilities + Google glasses as its mobile screen.
