Help Samsung S2X will start ringing for no apparent reason

My wife and I both have the Samsung S2X from Telus however hers recently started doing something odd. For no apparent reason it starts ringing as if someone is trying to call. However, the sreen is blank and there is no actual call coming in. She swipes the screen down and it stop the ringing but this only last temporarily. Sometimes it won't ring again for half a day, and other times it'll ring like this in half an hour. Is there a fix for this?

This problem can be realy annoying at 3:00 am when she forgets to turn off her phone .

Any help is reatly appreciated.

That's pretty strange. Did she download any apps around the time it started? Maybe one of them is causing it. She could also try a scan with something like Lookout Security or Avast. As a last resort, she could try a factory reset but no guarantee it would fix it.

If its under warranty, she might get it checked out. It could be a hardware problem too.
