The number for Samsung's USA Telecommunications Corporate Office in Texas is 972-761-7000.

I know some of you feel like you've been short changed as a customer, so you might want to give them a call.

Funny you posted this. I was on the phone with TMo tech support the other day having issue after issue with my Behold II and eventually they even called Samsung corp. Samsung wont even admit this phone is a piece of crap.

It wasn't a complete piece of crap when it first came out.... When it first came out I would say it matched few phones possibly did better but the lack of support for this phone with there being new phones coming out with snapdragon processors as standards this damn thing is getting left in the dust... Completely worthless. hopefully Android 2.x come out for us this month :/ at least then it won't be a complete piece of crap.

we need apps to load from sd card because my sb2 just filled up freakin 200mb of space psh.. bs is what this is.

I would argue that stock Android would be the best thing for this phone. When I compare it to my G1, the B2 is snappy ONLY because it has enough RAM to keep apps in memory. If we could loose the extra crap and let Android be Android - including letting it kill processes - this phone would be great.

In any case, bypass the marketing machine and send a letter to SAMSUNG Telecom in TX. (The address is in another thread.)

hehehe hells yea! Like I just said in another thread, the whole point of this phone is the camera and the screen. If you didn't need it, should have stuck with the G1 or myTouch and gone with one of Cynogen's mods.

I am also a proud cube user :p

There are third party apps that will provide similar functionality...and they UPDATE their software.

true but not to the same extent as the camera functions on the b2. This is arguablly the best camera on any android and while it may not replace a standalone camera for some for most it does just that. This was the main reason for me getting a behold2 the camera. My suggestion to samsung is to do what HTC has done and make touchwiz a choice, in any sense ui phone there exist the option to turn off sense and return to stock android. I was talking with my friends who are all android users and we agree that android really lends itself to be skined with a costum ui but the maker of the ui has to allow it to be a choice for people.

    good one :)

no seriously, have you found a camera app as good, or a notification bar as good, or you found a media player as good?

I will second you Defiant, touchwiz should have been made i choice. and agree with buying the behold for the camera. the myTouch myselfs camera was worse then my fist cellphone camera.

I have Snap Photo Pro. I bought it for my G1, and like it enough to keep it on my B2.

As for the notification, I'm happy enough with the stock notification bar. Again, coming from a G1 with 1.6, I found the power widget to work well without much fuss.

Finally, I rarely listen to music - NPR (great app) or rainymood.com if I was some ambient sounds - so again, I am happy enough with the stock app.

Call me strange, but I just don't trust SAMSUNG software right now. If I have a choice between stock Android and more of this bug-ridden crap, I'll take stock. Obviously, the ideal situation would be a more stock experience with ONLY the few apps that are actually better than stock.

Call me crazy but, I generally purchase a phone for use as a PHONE... not a camera. The camera was supposedly icing on the cake. The SB2 fails as a phone if it doesn't function...force closes too many times to mention, is frozen a great deal of the time, drains the battery totally dead faster than you can say Jack Daniels, drops calls consistently. And while it is causing you all of this frustration and angst, I must say that it is at least attractively doing so...and can take a great picture of you pulling your hair out!!!

And you too can have this same fun experience for only $230:rolleyes:
Eris is free with contract. Hero is free with contract. This piece of crap costs up the wazoo. Samsung has got to have some Integrity and do something to rectify how they have stuck us with this lovely paper weight.

not to be johnny trainspotter miss voyager, but if you purchased a phone just to be a phone then your comment of "drains the battery totally dead faster than you can say Jack Daniels", this means you are using the Behold for more than just a phone ;) (i went 51 hours with 30% battery left just using it as a text and phone device)

Not to be flippant but you have no idea how I use my phone. The battery drain, if you will search other SB2 threads is a problem with many SB2's. It has nothing to do with my usage. It is a flaw of this particular phone/OS/whatever. Bottom line: It drains on it's own - and FAST. Coming from former Smartphones such as the Treo and Blackberry 8830, I know that they can be persnickety. So, I purposely didn't install a boatload of 3rd party apps. I can do nothing at all and the battery will drain stone dead in a flash - And app killers don't help. - Plus, if I must "kill" all the features what is the point of having them?

Since I am not the only person with this problem, I venture to say that it is inherent in at least some of this line of phones.

Please understand the gist of my post - It is an added plus that my phone has a camera and other wow features. I already own a great camera and Mp3 player. But neither of them are phones. As I said before, this isn't my first Smartphone so, I know how a great phone is supposed to perform...even with all the gadgets. And I still say that no matter how many ancillary gadgets a manufacturer puts on a phone, its primary use is as a phone. ;)

If you lucked out with one that doesn't drain your battery, great for you. Apparently my phone didn't come from that batch.

oh heck naw, my battery sucks butte also. i am on my second battery replacement from tmobile. all with the same results.

but with a few easy tweeks you can get 2 days with the Behold.

    1. i turn off 3G when i sleep
    2. i found that app/taskillers do nothing but take up memeory and battery life. i dont use them
    3. anything with "follow me" location stuff. i turned my weather bug off and set locations for it and to update every 30 min
    4. besides email and sports tap i set things to update every 30min or only refresh when i start the app
    5. calibrate/condition the battery once a month
    6. VIBRATION FEEDBACK will drain the battery fast, turn it way down if you really need it or turn it off
    7. Using the phone for talking  with a smart phone i make less calls cause of email, text, twitter and facebook.

I get two days and have GPS on and brightness either at the middle, 3, or the brightest, 5, and many apps and widgets going.
but heavy youtube and web days or family yapping days i will only get 16 hours.

See, that is my point Culo. I don't have those apps running with the exception of 3G...which I never get. It's always Edge, LOL.
    No Vibration feedback
No Location Apps (as I said, I knew not to burden it with a lot of 3rd party apps)
I do check my email and messages however.
And yes, silly me... I use the phone for talking, LOL, which is why I have an unlimited everything plan.

*** Thank you for the tips, Culo77!!! - But this phone has issues, LOL

Nothing is wrong with the phone , just 1.5 please remember that ....
Before anyone starts thinking that the grass is greener on the other side , try finding a forum for your phone of choice and browse through it . This way you get an idea of what you gonna have to face.

On your post above about $230 vs free for a phone price:

    $230 + $80/month x 24 months = $2240 for a B2

    $0 + $130/month x 24 months = $3120 for a "free" Eris

Ummmm, so you want to pay $800+ more for a lower end eris? Free is a gimmick in the cell phone world, all it is, is a form of credit. For $800, you can buy a ton of batteries and keep your superior phone charged up constantly.

i will agree this phone has issues see some of my threads http://androidforums.com/samsung-behold-2/30592-throw-phone-out-window.html :D

i wonder if your battery is dying cause its constantly searching for a 3G signal? try the 2g/3g widget by curve fish and set it to use only 2g, maybe that might help?

Danozone thank you!!! ive been beating that drum for a while, people forget that the majority of problems they are having are problems that were reported on alot of 1.5 android phones including the g1.

Reading is fundamental  I never said that I wanted to purchase an Eris. The comparison was based upon the fact that both Eris and Hero were in the same class of phones as the SB2. Eris and Hero are free w/contract while SB2 is $230 w/contract - and not working.

And for the record, I also allowed that the phone's issues may be software related. But can we agree that a phone with a faulty OS is a faulty phone? If I cannot reliably use it based upon the fact that Samsung has not released a WORKABLE Operating System for this phone, it is their error and the phone is not living up to it's $230 price tag. I don't need a pretty brick. I didn't get it to say that I have a pretty phone display but cannot complete a call. And I am not in the battery buying business. I purchased a phone that should work as promised. End of story.

People with stable SB2's are the exception, not the norm. And let's face it, the big giveaway was not because the SB2 was a big seller. Read the SB2 forum...it dies a quick death. No doubt in part because people are tired of it. I have held on this long because people said that a fix was coming soon. Well? ... (tapping little cyber foot) ...

    No, huh? LOL

My point is that when you charge someone an extra $800 over the life of the contract, you can afford to give the phone away for "free".

If you need an example, compare prices of the Blackberry 9700 on Tmo vs. At&t. You can get it free from at&t, but you'll pay a significant premium in your monthly bill to get that simple gratification of a free phone.

My only complaint so far is the battery life, I've been averaging 8 hours, but would like a few more. And not using apps is not an option for me.

I would NEVER go with AT&T for anything...not even the iPhone. And my son has a Hero and only pays $69 per month for his great plan so, I don't get your point...unless it strictly applies to AT&T.

No , I still say that Samsung is at fault and nothing is wrong with the phone . What's my proof , the galaxy Rom ( which is mostly stock android ) makes this phone fly .. so with all the customization (good & bad) and also trying to keep the behold2 as close as possible to the original behold , the samsung engineering team gave us a messy mix of touchwiz and android . I still love the phone cause I know my way around the OS , but for the people who are new to android I can understand why they would be pissed with what Samsung did . So I stand by my statement , nothing is wrong with the phone , blame Samsung for what they did to the OS....

We don't disagree on the fact that it is Samsung's fault.

Something just occurred to me though. Sammy could dump the SB2, and simply release the Galaxy 2 and we'd be left holding the bag. I just spoke with Samsung Tech Support and was told that there is no update, that one has not been announced and they don't know when there will be one. Techs are told one week in advance of a release. The Galaxy 2 is said to be announced in March Samsung?s Android-based Galaxy 2 spotted | High Tech Lounge

No word on the Behold 2 update and yet

Well maybe we will see 2.x before march since apparently Samsung will have a new device running 2.1 and stirred with Touchwiz UI apparently in march according to this site. I mean its not that far fetched and The cube can't make that much of a difference.
