AndroidSpin reported that Samsung will announce more info regarding the OTA update that was "leaked" earlier this week. They keep saying this "Diligently" and "Soon" BS. I'm kind of tired of it. Froyo got pushed back to UK phones which means what for the US phones? We won't get Froyo, or even an update until 2011? I almost feel like someone else who posted about filing a BBB with Samsung and T-Mobile...but I'm giving them the benefit of a doubt.

It really is ridiculous. I didn't listen to the people who warned about Samsung/TMobile regarding the Behold II debacle. Too many others said that the Galaxy S series will be different because it's such a widespread release. They can't screw it up.

Starting to not look so good at this point.

Pretty much all of the other recent "super" phones have 2.2 already and we don't even have an update to fix some serious problems and the update isn't even slated to include 2.2.

How did they fall so far behind everyone else?!

I don't understand either. I'm really starting to think the G2 would have been a better choice... even though it does have a smaller screen and a keyboard...

The slowness of 2.2 and the GPS update is getting annoying.

Looking back. Everyone on the Shack warned me about Samsung.

They said how bad Samsung is with their OS support updates.

They said just look at the original Galaxy, and how fast that was abandoned.

Now, unless Samsung does something very fast, I will be turning the other way on their next big phone and get something from another Manufacturer.

They did? Leaked as in supposedly official but leaked early, or 2.2 from xda developer?

Well I hope the announcement next week is better than the one they released about the G2.

have you guys been following the G2 uproar? The phone was advertised as 4GB, but customers are getting like 1.2 GB.

some people at XDA supposedly have verified there is no 4GB physical memory at all.

Seems like this forums Administrator got hit also.

Also seems like the G2 isn't getting HSPA+ speeds at all. Some are claiming the phones aren't even G2's, but accidently branded european desire z as G2. Imagine that huge mistake!

    gotta see this video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX05OO-X55g

makes me love my vibrant even more!

another thing with the G2 is it is using a older CPU that is slower along with the GPU... and I wouldnt buy the G2 just due to the screen being so loose. people are talking about holding there phones and the keyboard just drops down.. The Vibrant is a much better phone hardware wise and just as good software wise besides the GPS but at least we all know that the GPS does work fine with the update that some people got via kies.. if at this point the Vibrant is still the best phone the only thing that is the bitch is we have to wait for our GPS to be fixed a bit longer.. but for me my gps is working and im not having the probs most people seem to be having so right now im pretty happy with the vibrant. ohh and I will add one more thing the G2 720p video is very choppy and not that smooth at all compared to the Vibrant.. All I can say is the G2 is doing worse then the Vibrant at this point.. I really was kinda hoping the G2 would be a good phone but on the xda forums there are some links to videos of the G2's keyboard issue and the choppy video and not so good cam.. I had the G1 from the start and I never heard so many probs about cell phones untill now it seems the makers are just trying way to hard to push out the product rather then make sure everything is good to go and test it.. In a way it makes me happy to know that I made the right choice and got the Vibrant rather then a phone with a smaller screen that wiggles..

I anxiously await the first "stop whining" idiot to show up in this thread. I'm really beginning to think Samsung has their software developers trolling forums telling everyone to calm down and that Froyo will come out when it's ready and the phone is really perfect as is and that the gps works perfect...bleh, bleh, bleh.

Sorry for my sarcasm, but after having been through the empty promises and missed dates with Motorola on the Cliq XT, I have no patience left for Samsung.

You know I agree with this thread; I mean the Galaxy S series is suppose to be top of the line, yet we are last to receive Froyo...

Its so unfair...I mean I have this awesome phone with super features but its not updated with a simple GPS fix or anything

But on that note I love my Vibrant megaly and as far as money I don't have the funds to jump ship and get something else.

Honestly, that video is crap. Why would you benchmark a G1, with 2+ yr old hardware to a newer G2 with (sorta) up to date hardware? What does it prove? Would have made more sense to make a video comparing a Droid phone to the G2

It's a major business mistake on Samsung and T-Mobile's part to promise an update, whether it's simply a GPS fix or Froyo, by the end of September and not deliver. They realize the implications that it will cause on future business and customer confidence in the brand itself, but refuse to put the necessary effort forward to meeting deadlines.

Truth is, since we all already have the Vibrant, once the update does come we'll be posting threads about how long awaited it was, but ultimately we'll be happy. Human nature has a tendancy to overlook the negative as long as a positive does come relatively soon, and I think that "relatively soon" in this case is around December, 2010, and business analysts know this. If it goes longer than that, there'll be problems for Samsung and T-Mobile, but I think they're biding their time to have a sometime-in-2010 release of the update. We're basically pawns in their game of chess, but they've got the king and queen heavily gaurded by knights and bishops and castles. What they don't know is that us pawns have implanted C4 bricks in each of their knights and bishops and castles, set to automatically detonate in December, exposing them to check-mate if it goes that long :) haha.

Yea, sure we will wait and make many threads about it being finally here because that's what we always do, but rumor has it that TMO is took the wifi hotspot feature out(which to me was one of the main features of Froyo.)

In the end all I am saying is they better be careful how long they take because sure if all the updates came now it would be ok, but some may decide to jump ship if they take too too long.

Anyone that's been around for a while knows me and know that I despised Samsung during the BH2 fiasco, and also know that I defended Samsung with the release of the Galaxy S phones. I decided to give them a chance, but this is my last Samsung phone.

I have sources within Samsung and TMobile on the corporate level and have good reason to stay away from them from now on. As sad as it sounds, their own people are getting sick of this.

I'm not a huge HTC fan, but at least their phones work properly and they receive updates in a timely manner.

I'm considering the MyTouch HD when it releases. So long Samsung.

I am actually hoping Samsung and TMO shape up after this Froyo and GPS fiasco of 2010.

I saythat because this phone is a nice piece oh hardware they just need to shape up a bit with the software part.

maybe because he was trying to keep it in the family, compare the first generation g1 to the new g2, made perfect sense to me. Plus he ran 1 quadrant benchmark, probably to show how far the improvement in performance has reached in this family of 2 phones.

I think the main point of his video was the speedtest 3g vs hspa+

Spiz not to put the spotlight on you, nor am I trying to put you down in any sort of way, but all your posts always hint to the fact that you know insiders within Samsung and T-Mobile, yet most of the inside info you hint to has been misinformation. Either the insiders are lying to you, or you don't have any insiders.

I mean, your insiders had told you an update would be here very very very very shortly, well very shortly turned into weeks, then turned into end of september, then now turned into october.

Where were your insider friends when you bought the behold 2 and that turned shitty, now the same with your Vibrant.

Truth is, unless your insider friends are the CEO of Samsung and T-Mobile, and have to answer to investors, then your insider friends are probably just passing down rumors they hear within the company. Rumors that have shown to be wrong on multiple times.

Again not trying to be harsh, but it gets annoying, so many people claim they know people on the inside, and in my experience visiting forums, people who make these claims 99.9 percent of the time provide false info.

Remember that guy who supposedly worked for T-Mobile, he had everyone here and at XDA believing Sept 20th was the update drop date, because supposedly an inside memo said so.

thanks for listening, and I do still love you.
