My phone is moving extra slow, Handcent is giving me a lot of force closes, or not opening at all. I can't delete messages...can't download out the market, it will say starting download but will never actually start...I want to throw it against the wall, please save my phone from me!!!

Clear your caches, if it's still running slow remove apps that you don't need, and if you want it lightning fast root it

From Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>(Select the app, you should have an option to clear its cache) I'd recommend the browser and messaging, and anything else you use on a regular basis.

What messaging app are you using? And what kind of connection are you trying to download on?

Just a suggestion... I recently deleted the Hancent app, because I noticed it was laggy even with cache cleared and all of the threads deleted. This does of course vary phone by phone, and its just what I noticed (I am not rooted). Now I just use the Stock text messaging app, I uninstalled the other one, and it seems to be a lot less laggy.

yea, handcent is gone for now...and i also saw my texts were also in the stock system's storage...so although i was erasing things out of hancent, it was still on my phone under the stock program...wonder if thats why it's so laggy...I'm deleting over 2k msgs and thats whats over 2 wks old

If you want to use a different messaging app I would suggest turning auto-retrieve off in the stock app

Keep your txt message counts low...1500 messages will make your phone crawl
